Letter 45: Buried TransformersApril 22, 2008 Dear Mr. Penner, I am writing to inquire if any further information has come to light concerning the missing transformers, the disposal of which Catalyst Powell River division does not seem to have any record of, and which may be buried in the old landfill site on Wildwood hill in Powell River. I know that transformers are numbered individually and the disposal sites have by law to be documented. There should also be records of the PCBs which the transformers contained. When you do find out where the transformers and PCBs ended up, we in Wildwood would be grateful for the information. If Catalyst can provide no documentation as to where those items were disposed of, I suggest that testing of sufficient depth be carried out in the are of the site pointed out to your investigation panel by the former employees who testified that they saw transformers being dumped and buried there. Hoping to hear from you soon, CC: Shane Simpson »
